dining-rooms-2015-Greater-Austin-Parade-Homes

Current trends show we are “opening” our kitchens to accommodate our daily lives, adding to the Kitchen Island, or building islands that accommodate. Today, families are on the move, counter tops are for homework, science projects, office space, the junk pile, and occasionally for eating.

However, numbers show that we still love our dedicated dining rooms. Its idyllic visions of big gatherings for holidays, or just having friends over. It’s what we want to do, but rarely end up doing.

In the 2015 Greater Austin Parade of Homes the architects, builders, and designers showed us the freedom of having our cake and eating it too. These wide open floor plans allow for a formal space and a family space to enjoy life either way, on the go, our sit and stay awhile.

Below are the photos we took last year.

Above pictures feature these builders in order:

Texas Custom Construction

Matt Sitra Custom Homes

The HBA of Greater Austin sure knows how to showcase the best of the best, and has for over 60 years. Make sure you get your tickets for this year’s Great Austin HBA Parade of Homes in the beautiful Caliterra neighborhood of Dripping Springs
