Today, families are on the move, counter tops are for homework, science projects, office space, the junk pile, and occasionally for eating. However, numbers show that we still love our dedicated dining rooms. Its idyllic visions of big gatherings for holidays, or just having friends over. It’s what we want to do, but rarely end up doing. In the 2015 Greater Austin Parade of Homes the architects, builders, and designers showed us the freedom of having our cake and eating it too. These wide open floor plans allow for a formal space and a family space to enjoy life either way, on the go, our sit and stay awhile. Below are the photos we took last year.
